Bruxism is produced by the Greek word’ brychein’ which actually means tooth gnashing or grinding of the tooth. Millions of people suffer from this condition worldwide. Estimates are not easy to determine as it is mostly an unconscious state while asleep but widespread figures put the number at approximately 50 % of the worldwide population. That’s Half of the 6.5 billion people living on this earth. It is a staggering figure but the real shocker is that under 10 % of those people are in fact cognizant of their teeth grinding condition. You yourself can have bruxism and not recognize it.
You may be asking now, “Then why haven’t I learned about it before? Where would be the warnings from the medical community?” The easiest answer to that is no one truly understands a great deal about bruxism since it is apparently seen as untreatable by the general medical community and researchers cannot figure out what causes tooth grinding. Teeth grinding by itself may not be that big of an issue to a lot of men and women in the earlier stages of its but it is able to result in much more serious problems including Temporomandibular Joint Disorder (TMJ) which were proven to result in agonizing headaches, back and shoulder pain, persistent jaw pain, the list and stomach pains simply goes on.
#1 Thing You Need to Know:
Just how difficult can one grind their teeth? If you’ve tried grinding your teeth while you’re awake, I am rather certain you were not too alarmed by what harm you can do. But what really can you do? Attempt this little experiment to find out a more accurate picture. Take a deep breath and clench the best teeth whitening kit for crowns (he has a good point) of yours (bite down) tough for a count of 10 seconds. It’s tough as it may sound might it be? Notice how the jaw of yours and teeth both feel a tad sore and out of position? That has been just 10 seconds and not near as powerful as the unconscious state of yours of tooth grinding. Imagine engaging in that each night as you slept for an average of 3 4 hours. The quantity of pressure you put on your teeth, gums and jaw is incredible.
#2 Thing You Have to Know:
You’ll find techniques to stop teeth grinding. Regardless of what your physician or perhaps dentist informs you about bruxism being an untreatable condition (of course only some of them tell you this but in general), I and thousands of other ex-bruxism sufferers are able to attest to the basic fact there are simple but certain methods to effectively treat tooth grinding. There’s sadly no one magic pill or product you can take. This includes the muscle relaxants, night mouth guards, splints, and anti depressants which are usually prescribed by medical professionals. They simply do not work as they’re all temporary solutions that do not treat the root cause of bruxism. Take away the pills and you are back to teeth grinding again. The night mouth guards as well as splints are pointless also as they only act like a cushion for the teeth of yours. You do not expect going to sleep along with the guards shoved into your mouth every night for the remainder of the life of yours, do you? To my annoyance, I actually had a dentist tell me to do just that!
Bruxism is a thing you should take really in case you feel you’ve symptoms of teeth grinding. The earlier you try to treat this condition, the better it is for the body of yours as well as the easier it’ll be.
