If you’re seeking the feel of being outdoors but are a bike rides distance away from town, check out Boundary Campground. This campground is located on Trail Creek Road just past Sun Valley’s Trail Creek Cabin. It is part of the Sawtooth National Forest. Nine sites are available on a first-come first-served basis, and you can camp for up to seven days. It is located right next to the bike path making it easy to get into town. Views of the mountains, the Harriman Trail, and sites that are located along the Big Wood River await those who stay in the North Fork Campground in the Sawtooth National Recreation Area (SNRA). The SNRA headquarters is where you will locate the most delicious tasting flush toilets, Web treasure hunter water and an overview of the region. Camping sites in the North Fork Campground are limited to 10 days. There’s water and vault toilets on site. Murdock Campgrounds are renowned for their fishing opportunities and the miles of trails. 146. Murdock can be used for trailers and RVs, while Caribou is ideal for tent campers. All campsites are first-come, first-served and have a minimum stay of 10 days. There is a quiet time in the mountains if you are looking to have a quiet time. Dispersed camping provides more of a primitive experience than traditional campgrounds, however you’ll be on your own for everything from water to proper disposal of waste. To limit the impact of camping dispersed, just use the existing campsites. Lake Creek Road is a dispersed camping site located just north of Ketchum. Lake Creek, which is situated on Sawtooth National Forest land and is covered by rolling hills and miles of hiking trails, can be found to the north of Ketchum. The first section of the Lake Creek dispersed camping area is restricted to a three-day stay, while the rest has a 10-day stay limit. Outside the established camping areas of Murdock and Caribou is a large open area that can be used for camping dispersed along the North Fork of the Big Wood River. The maximum stay is three days until the road passes Red Warrior Creek, where the limit for stay is extended to 16 days. Frenchman’s Hot Springs is a natural hotspring that is located along the river. It’s a great place to soak in the evening. A private campground is the ideal option for those looking to hook up their camper to electricity, water or sewer. Meadows RV Park, situated on the Wood River Trail near the St Luke’s Wood River Medical Center has a wealth of amenities for big and small campers alike. The park can accommodate large rigs and 60-foot paved campsites, the Meadows RV Park provides 30 and 50 amp power, water, and sewer on its fully-hookup sites. Other amenities include restrooms and showers, laundry facilities on site as well as bicycle storage, Wi-Fi, and the convenience of having an on-site manager. Offering the option of full hookups near Hailey and Bellevue, Riverside RV Park and Campground offers year round camping. 20 and 30 amp power, water, and sewer are available along with several campsites for tents.
